The only suggestion I have would be an easier way to tell where the file is being saved to.

The full local path appears in a tooltip when you move the mouse over the filename displayed at the first line of the dialog (same for the download host and the full source URL), I hope that helps.

A good number of comments here sound like things might not looks as bad when you actually have a test build with those dialogs enabled. Perhaps, if I find the time, I can come back on the offer of the Mozilla Messaging team to test their new try server and produce builds that contain the whole suite of downloadmanager patches, including those progress dialogs.

extension
We need an extension "Download dialog classic". :o)

Yes I am plain ugly, but I use Download dialog every day. :=)

I have to switch to offline in SM when save as pages - for saving from cache that's why I use FF as "download manager" from time to time when I save big files. And I don't like FF-style dialog.

As long as you can copy the downloading URL, I don't mind what the dialog looks like. I have had a few instances where I have wanted to copy the URL from the download box so I can paste it into Flashget for stop/resume/multithread purposes.

A tooltip isn't sufficient for me. I may not speak for the majority of users, but I prefer the v1.1 download dialog because it permits me to easily select and copy the entire source URL or destination path, which I then may paste into another application as necessary -- and all without having to touch the mouse.

Must be the choice to use the old SM style imho
I don't like FF style of download manager too !!!

I think users must have the right to choose UI for download manager.
I like the old SeaMonkey UI style, - and don't like FF style((, pardon me please.
And I think I'm not the only one in that.

New download box in Seamonkey 2
The new download box stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The little pause and cancel icons are way too small. And if you close the box, the download continues in the background? How sensible is that?

And I need to access the download URL. It is nowhere to be seen anymore.

How can all the others who feel the same just be ignored?????????
