Did anyone try to build XUL Fennec for Vivaldi / Plasma Active? I tried to do it recently, but their Mer SDK is broken now with sratchbox2, so I'll have to wait. I'd really like to see Firefox there, since it's the first real Linux tablet coming out.

I hope during the race for Android native UI and efforts for B2G, regular Firefox for mobile Linux won't get lost "between the cracks".

Surely nobody at Mozilla did try building the XUL build for Vivaldi.

The XUL versions is not being actively developed right now by people paid by Mozilla, and it looks like the community hasn't stepped up to do any work on it either, so anything that works there is basically by pure chance (and the fact that it's similar enough to other versions that it's not breaking right away by itself).

That's a bit surprising that Mozilla can't (or isn't interested to) find at least one person to work on mobile Linux support (non Android) as an employee.

It's a question of where to most efficiently put resources. The sad reality is that there's way too few users of mobile Linux out there that putting a paid person to focus on it makes sense. We instead make people work on Boot to Gecko and hope that the community will take a look at the mobile XUL version if there's enough interest to keep it going.
